Veterans Day: How Our $5-a-Month Veteran Discount Works
Veterans Day, and a Discount That Says Thank You
Every November 11, we take a moment to say thank you to the veterans who served. It is a small thing next to what was given. So every veteran who signs up for Help Now Medical Alert saves $5 every month, for as long as they have the service.
Meals on Wheels recipients receive the exact same $5 monthly discount. If either one applies to you, or to someone you are helping get set up, claiming it takes just a minute.
How the Discount Works
The $5 comes off your bill every single month, not as a one-time coupon. It applies no matter which system you choose.
That could be the at-home Home Link, which works over a landline, or the Cellular Home Link, which needs no phone line or Wi-Fi at all. It could also be a Belle mobile pendant, worn around town, with optional fall detection and an optional Caregiver App that lets a family member check location and battery from their own phone.
Every system is monitored 24/7 from response centers here in the United States. None of them require the person wearing it to own a smartphone, use Wi-Fi, or manage an app. Press the button, and a real person answers.
How to Claim It
If you are ordering at our shop, mention your service in the notes of your setup form, or drop us a quick note or call after ordering, and we apply the discount to your monthly rate.
If you would rather talk to a person first, call (866) 743-7348, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific. Tell whoever answers that you are a veteran, and they will take care of it while they walk you through the rest of setup. Either way, you never have to prove anything or mail in paperwork. Your word is enough.
An Honest Note About the VA
We want to be straightforward here, because it matters. Help Now Medical Alert is a private company. We are not part of the VA, and we do not bill the VA for anything.
When you order from us, online or by phone, you are paying us directly. No VA benefit is being used, spent, or affected either way.
Separately, the VA does provide emergency response devices to some enrolled veterans, arranged through their own VA care team. If that sounds like a path worth checking first, the place to ask is your VA clinic. We would rather you know both options exist than assume there is only one.
Whichever way you go, there is no wrong answer here. We simply want veterans to have the full picture before they decide, and to know that either choice is a good one.
What Else to Know
Pricing starts around $30.95 a month when paid by card, and bank autopay brings that down further. Paying quarterly takes $1 off each month, and paying annually takes $2 off each month.
If you are still deciding between a landline system, a cellular one, or something worn on the go, our guide on how to choose a medical alert system walks through the differences in plain terms.
There is no contract with any Help Now system. No cancellation fee, and no equipment charge, ever. If you try it and it is not the right fit, you have 30 days to send it back for a full refund, and we cover the return shipping.
Setup can happen entirely online. You order the system, fill out one short form covering emergency contacts and any medical information responders should have, and it ships to you already programmed and ready to plug in. That whole form takes about five minutes.
If a lock box for spare keys would help first responders get in without forcing a door, one comes free, and you choose your own 4-digit code during setup, so it is ready before the system even arrives.
What a Medical Alert Can and Cannot Do
We think honesty matters here as much as the discount does. A medical alert system does not prevent falls, and no fall detection, ours included, catches every single fall. That is exactly why every system also has a button to press by hand, any time, whether or not a fall is involved.
These systems need power and a working landline or cellular connection to work, and they are not a substitute for calling 911 when someone is able to make that call themselves.
None of that changes what the system is good for. It is a fast, reliable way to reach a real person the moment help is needed, day or night, without hunting for a phone or dialing a number with shaking hands.
Thank You, Simply
Veterans Day is one day a year to say it out loud. The discount is not. It stays on your account every month, for as long as you are with us.
If you are a veteran, or you are helping one get set up, we are glad to have you, and glad to make it $5 easier, this November and every month after.
